'Nebraska' star Bruce Dern likened his Academy Award nomination for Best Actor - his first in 35 years - to a shot at the Super Bowl trophy.

The talent from in front and behind the camera who were fortunate enough to notch an Academy Award nomination Thursday morning scrambled to give reactions worthy of Hollywood’s biggest honor.  Perhaps the best feel-good story of the day was the Best Supporting Actor nomination for newcomer Barkhad Abdi. The Somali-born 28-year-old was toiling a limo driver in Minnesota just two years ago when he stumbled on a television news report on an open casting call for a Tom Hanks movie.
