Today's 2014 Oscar update takes a look at predictions for the Best Adapted and Original Screenplay categories, both of which have a solid line-up of scripts vying for award attention.
The Original category has obvious contenders such as Woody Allen (Blue Jasmine), Joel and Ethan Coen (Inside Llewyn Davis), Peter Morgan (Rush) and David O. Russell who teamed with Eric Singer for his American Hustle screenplay.
However, the category has plenty more to consider beyond the obvious such as Sue Smith and Kelly Marcel's work on Saving Mr. Banks, a script that has been praised and a film I've heard is quite good, Danny Strong's Lee Daniels' The Butler will obviously remain part of the conversation for the duration and Bob Nelson's Nebraska screenplay has a bit of an uphill battle at the moment, but don't expect it to be forgotten.
