SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain — Juan Martin Hsu’s feature debut “La Salada” has won San Sebastian Film Festival’s Films in Progress, which is one of the leading pix in post competitions for Latin American films. The film focuses on the experiences of immigrants in Argentina as they struggle with loneliness and home-sickness. Pic follows three stories that intersect at an open-air market. The pic, which won the INCAA first film competition, was produced by Sudestada Cine. The award comes with services to ensure the pic’s completion, and it also enables it to be released in Spain.
