HIFF Announces ‘About Time’ as Southampton Opener | Variety


Richard Curtis’ “About Time” will be the Southampton opener on Oct. 11, while John Wells’ “August: Osage County” will be that Saturday’s centerpiece film. Meanwhile “Kill Your Darlings” will open the fest on Oct. 10, “12 Years a Slave” will wrap it up, and “Nebraska” will be the Sunday centerpiece.  This year’s spotlight films are as follows: Drake Doremus’ drama “Breathe In,”  Spike Jonze’s dramedy “Her,” Jason Reitman’s “Labor Day” (starring Kate Winslet), Justin Chadwick’s bio pic “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” Asghar Farhadi’s French mystery drama “The Past,” the world premieres of Anthony Fabian’s “Louder Than Words” and Shana Betz’s “Free Ride,” and “Capital,” which will be preceded by a tribute to its Oscar-winning director Costa-Gavras.
