FRANKFORT, MI -- The fifth annual Frankfort Film Festival doesn't strive to be too arty or too extreme. It just wants to offer great, award-winning films, said organizer Rick Schmitt, who also runs the renovated Garden Theater here. "Our mission for the Frankfort Film Festival is to bring award winning films from other festivals around the world to Frankfort," he said recently on my "Going Gonzo" radio show, which airs from 1-2 p.m. on WJRW-AM (1340) in Grand Rapids. "We're not trying to re-invent the wheel. We're just trying to bring real good independent cinema to the big screen in Frankfort." The festival is Oct. 24-27.
