‘Kinky Boots’ Producer Daryl Roth Taps Exec to Head Licensing Company | Variety

Daryl Roth, one of the lead producers of recent Tony champ “Kinky Boots,” has tapped Erica Lynn Schwartz as the new director of Daryl Roth Productions’ licensing arm, DR Theatrical Licensing.  Schwartz takes over the post this month, transitioning from her most recent gig as director of development at Off Broadway’s MCC Theater. Her resume also includes stints at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Lincoln Center and 321 Theatrical Management.
Exec takes the reins from Michael Barra, who recently departed the company and has launched his own shingle.  Roth, the longtime Broadway producer whose credits include strong-selling tuner “Kinky Boots,” the currently previewing play “A Time to Kill” and the Tony-winning revival of “The Normal Heart,” also owns two Off Broadway venues. She launched the company’s theatrical licensing branch a year ago.
Titles in the org’s stable include some 30 plays by Charles Busch (to be feted in a national fest of the scribe’s work co-sponsored by DR Theatrical Licensing) as well as Off Broadway alums “Love, Loss and What I Wore” and “The Temperamentals.” Plays by Mark Brown (“Around the World in 80 Days”) and Bob Randall (“6 Rms Riv Vu”) also are handled by the company.
