Disney released the first look images at its upcoming “Avatar” theme park dubbed “Pandora,” which is slated to open in Orlando, Fla. at the Animal Kingdom park at Walt Disney World Resort in early-2017.
“From the moment ‘Avatar’ was released, people were captivated by the mythical world of Pandora,” Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Tom Staggs wrote on the department’s blog.
“When we announced that we’d be working with ['Avatar' director] James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment to bring this world to life in our parks, we felt certain that this partnership and combination of talent and imagination would produce an experience unlike any other ever created,” he continued.
