Gillan’s Jane Lockhart is a novelist struggling with her second book. Publisher Tom (Stanley Weber) thinks domestic bliss is the cause of her writer’s block and so sets out to make her unhappy and productive Contrived, manic and unfunny the film also flounders because of the lack of chemistry between an awkward Gillan and a wooden Weber. The sole bright spark is an engaging performance from Iain de Caestecker as Tom’s anxious assistant Roddy.
