Watching TV Commercials For Fun And Profit - Forbes
The television business is about to fall off a cliff! At least that is the prediction that many media analysts and pundits have put forward. I have certainly offered my share of commentary about the transition of the TV business which is still in a very early stage. My perspective is informed by a first-hand view of the music industry’s head on collision with consumers which forced its executives to unbundle albums, and change the distribution format to digital downloads and streaming against their will. It is hard to imagine a scenario where television doesn’t go down the same path. Channels will be unbundled from cable tiers, shows will be unbundled from channels, and all content will be readily available through streaming services. Falling off a cliff, right?
